Dedicated to bringing filmmakers and film lovers together, the 3rd Annual ReadingFilmFEST, set for Nov. 10 through 12, specializes in creating a filmmaker-centric festival — giving attendees the opportunity to talk with filmmakers and learn about their work. Dubbed “The filmmakers’ film festival,” it is a 3-day event jam-packed with documentary, feature and short films, as well as panel discussions and parties...lots of parties!
And for those submitting works, several honors are up for grabs, including Best of Show – Audience Choice Award; Best Narrative Feature; Best Documentary Feature; Best Short Film; Social Impact Award; Best Music; Best Shot in Reading; Best Screenplay; and Best Student Films – College & High School (Narrative Short, Documentary Short, and Music Video). The individual winning the Best of Show Grand Prize will enjoy a concierge package that will aid in shooting his or her next film in Reading, including location scouting, a hospitality package, waived location fees, catering, and one day of aerial drone cinematography by an award-winning drone photographer.
Volunteers Wanted
For those looking to get involved in a way other than submitting a film for consideration, volunteering may be the answer. Ambassadors for the festival earn free film passes, get to meet upcoming film-makers, and more. Reach out to the festival manager by emailing melissa@ReadingFilmFest.com.
ReadingFilmFEST is a production of the ReadingFilm office, which has a growing reputation as the filmmaker’s film commission, with its concierge-like service providing diverselocations, easy access, and a supportive production environment to projects large and small. It prides itself on nurturing emerging filmmakers like no one else…because Reading Loves Film! ReadingFilm and ReadingFilmFEST are programs of Pennsylvania's Americana Region, the area’s tourism bureau.
