Each summer I freeze the strawberries and raspberries we grow and round out the freezer berry collection with other locally grown varieties. Being able to make a winter smoothie for breakfast or afternoon snack can’t be beat! Dropping local berries into a muffin mix or pancakes is a real treat.
A banana and bit of honey is all you will need to sweeten this smoothie. Add a bit of granola, if you like!
Mixed Berry Smoothie
Yields: 1-2 servings
Ingredients
- 1 cup frozen mixed berries
- 1/4 cup orange juice
- 1/4 cup non-fat Greek yogurt
- 1 ripe banana, peeled
- 1/8 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp honey
Instructions
1. Combine all ingredients in a blender and puree until smooth.
