6 Farmers Markets for Picking Produce in Berks

Something that makes Berks County stand out is the vast number of local farms and crafters in our area. What better way to support our local farmers and artisans than by buying straight from the source? Here are six amazing local markets in Berks…

  1. Kirbyville Farm Market, Fleetwood. As you drive along Route 222, make sure to stop into Kirbyville Farm Market. Explore home-baked goods, made-to-order sandwiches, locally sourced dairy items, ice cream and local seasonal produce. For market hours and more, visit justplainbusiness.com/kirbyville-farm-market.
  1. PA Dutch Farmers Market of Wyomissing, Wyomissing. Does shopping make you hungry? No problem; PA Dutch Farmers Market has you covered. Shop until you drop…into the food court! Open Thursday and Friday, 9am-6pm and Saturday, 8am-4pm. Find weekly specials at padutchfarmersmarketofwyomissing.com.
  1. Boscov’s Fairgrounds Farmers Market, Reading. While the market offers a wide variety of fresh produce, it is also a great hub for all things cuisine. This spot offers a diverse range of eat-in or take-out options from Oola Bowls to Vietnamese Delights. Visit the market at 2934 N. 5th Street Hwy. on Thursday and Friday from 8am-7pm and Saturday from 8am-4pm. For a full list of merchants visit fairgroundsfarmersmarket.com.
  1. Leesport Farmers Market, Leesport. Every Wednesday from 8am-6pm, explore the Leesport Farmers Market. Stop in on the first Sunday of every month for an extra flea and farmers market, along with special events. Be sure to catch the livestock auction every Wednesday at 1pm. 1. Shillington Farmers Market, Shillington. Operating since 1935, the Shillington Farmer’s Market is 18,000 square feet of farm fresh goods and handmade items. Visit the market at 10 S. Summit Avenue on Thursday and Friday from 7am-7pm and Saturday from 7am-4pm. For the full list of vendors and restaurants, visit shillingtonfarmersmarket.com.
