Calling all dog lovers and their four-legged friends! Dog Days of August will arrive on Saturday, Aug. 18, 2012 from 10am to 1pm in the Civic Club Walkway (located at the entrance to the inner core parking lot of Boyertown, off of South Reading Avenue next to the Auto Tag Place, 30 South Reading Avenue).
Start the day by cooling off in the doggie pools provided by Joe Paw’s Dog Bakery. Join in the furry fun and participate in the scavenger hunt with Dog Scouts Troop 202. Prizes will be awarded by Zimmers Pets. Head over to the Boyertown Farmer’s Market for a “Blessing of the Animals” by Sister Millicent Drake at 10:30am. All animals are welcome.
While there, take advantage of free pet nail trimming by Fuzzy Days LLC. There will be ice cream for both you and your best friend, hotdogs and pretzels by the Kiwanis Club, as well as Rita’s Water Ice. Pick up a map at Building a Better Boyertown’s information table the day of the event so you don’t miss out on any of the fun!
Come early and receive a goodie bag with items contributed by local businesses.
Be sure to explore the new streetscape improvements by foot and stop by the pet watering stations hosted by various locations out front of downtown Boyertown businesses, including: The Boyertown Farmers Market, Zimmers Pets, Joe Paws Dog Bakery, GiGi’s at Home Pet Care tent, Taylor Backes Glass Blowing Studio, Studio B, and more.
Parking will be available in the Inner Core Parking lot, along S. Reading Avenue, the lots of National Penn Bank, St. John's Church, Good Shepherd Church, and the Boyertown Farmer’s Market, located in the parking lot of the Boyertown Museum of Historic Vehicles at 100 South Walnut St.
