Don’t Miss MDA’s Black & Blue Ball
By: Don't Miss, Berks County Living, Berks County Living November 2012

Are you a rebel looking for a good cause? Step out on the town and into the transformed Classic Harley-Davidson in Leesport wearing your best black tie outfit or some blue jean glamour. You will be treated to an evening of dinner, dancing, open bar, casino games and an unforgettable auction. The event will feature music from the Burning House Band.

This year, in celebration of the 10th Anniversary, the Muscular Dystrophy Association is honoring East Penn Manufacturing with the Jeremy Carroll Award. This award is given by The Jeremy Carroll Foundation, and is bestowed upon an individual or company who has kept Jeremy’s indomitable spirit alive through support & inspiration. East Penn Manufacturing has supported the MDA strongly over the past 12 years. The partnership is unique as both provide a valuable source of mobility for those living with a neuromuscular disease. East Penn’s manufacturing of specialized batteries provides the source of power for motorized wheelchairs, which benefits many local families.

The funds raised at this year’s events will benefit the local Muscular Dystrophy Association, which serves more than 900 individuals battling a neuromuscular disease. The MDA provides a free clinic at Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Network, sends more than 80 local kids to an overnight summer camp for children with a neuromuscular disease, assists with the cost of repairs to durable medical equipment, aids in obtaining gently used medical equipment through its loaner program, facilitates support groups and provides research grants to find treatments and cures.

There is still an opportunity to purchase tables, tickets and sponsorships for the event. Get your tickets quickly, as last year the event was close to capacity. If you are unable to attend, there are other ways you can help, such as sponsoring a child to go to MDA’s week-long summer camp, or considering a sponsorship where you receive advertising and signage at the event. Don’t miss out on the hottest event in town and an evening filled with hope.

For more information

or to purchase tickets & sponsorship visit berksblackandblue.com or call Katrina Lerch at 610.391.1977.

Fri., Nov. 16 | Time: 6-11pm | $175 for a lone rider, $800 for a camper sponsorship (4 tickets & ¼page ad) $2,000 for a denim sponsorship (table of 10 & ½ page ad)
