Starting with this fall season, our Berks County Living staff members will weigh in on some of their seasonal favorites. Check them out. Who knows – some of ours may become some of yours!
Magnificent Mums.
Esbenshade’s Garden Center in Fleetwood has a great selection. One thing I love to do is stick a wooden skewer in the bottom of a Jack-Be-Little pumpkin or small gourd and then stick the skewer in the mum around the edge of the planter. Looks cute! — Robyn L. Jones, Publisher
Pie Pick.
We always purchase our pumpkin pies from Wyomissing Restaurant & Bakery. Their pies are very fresh and are the best! — Sara Woodward, Account Executive
Décor Galore.
When it’s time to decorate, we head to Frecon Farms in Boyertown. I like to buy pumpkins, gourds, and this year it will be time for a new scarecrow. We enjoy their apple cider, too. — Elizabeth Beebe, Account Executive
Go Here for Leaf Peeping.
I love a good crisp fall hike to the outlooks at Hawk Mountain Sanctuary in Kempton. It feels like a bonus when you get to view wildlife, too. — Nikki M. Murry, Editor-In-Chief
A Bushel or a Basket.
For apples we head to Weaver’s Orchard in Morgantown. Our favorites are honey crisp and gala. We love to make apple pies! — Heather Pendergast-Baker, Account Executive
Sweet Treat.
I love my apples topped with some hot caramel and peanuts! — Vanessa Goffredo, Art Director
