Ever struggle with the decision to do something just for yourself? I’m not talking a necessity; I mean something just to treat yourself or to make your life a bit easier – to make an investment in your own self-care.
I’m sure I’m not alone when I admit that justifying “luxury” or “extra” purchases can be hard. Times are tight for many. Especially if you’re a parent.
But it is important to take the time to treat yourself every now and then. So I have.
How, you ask?
By doing something I’ve been thinking about for quite some time: getting laser hair removal. That’s right. We all have dreams unique to each of us, right? Well, for years now, I’ve dreamed of summers of being able to throw on a tank top or swimsuit without having to shave under my arms to do so. You hear me, right ladies?
Why does it seem like such a big deal? Why is it worth the investment? The up to 8 monthly appointments to get the job done? (Read: If you want a hair-free summer, start now!) I’ll go into the details in this blog series as I navigate through the experience, appointment by appointment, with the wonderful Justine Stump, and esthetician at Spine and Wellness Center’s Mind & Body Medi Spa in Exeter Township (link: http://spineandwellness.org/skin-care.html).
From ditching razors and the burn, the ingrown hairs they can bring and the 5 o’clock shadow, not to mention the added cost over time, I’ll tell you I’m beyond excited to see the end result for so many reasons.
I’ve visited for my initial appointment and found the experience to be quick and the pain to be minimal (think maybe the feeling of a snap of a rubber band). Justine is a great listener. She’s also certified with Alma Laser for hair removal and skin care. So, you’re in great hands!
Bonus: right now, you can schedule a free first appointment to see if laser hair removal is for you by visiting http://bit.ly/NEVERSHAVEEVER for more info.
My second appointment is Oct. 17. Stay tuned!
