Okay. I’m not saying I don’t do it, but it’s certainly not one of my favorite things. What is it? Shaving. Seriously. If guys want to grow a beard, fine. No shaving necessary. Hairy legs and armpits? No problem! But we girls have to groom, groom, groom.
I don’t even think it’s the time it takes to do it. It’s more the 5 o’clock shadow under my arms after a half-day or the nicks and razor burn that come with the territory. So, needless to say, a good razor is a godsend. And I’m constantly on the search for one.
So I was terribly excited to get an email from a public relations individual representing Schick. “Do you want to try any of our razors or shave gels?” she asked. “Heck yes!” I said.
Here’s what I found in a nutshell: every razor has its ups and downs and while there wasn’t one I liked as the be-all-end-all in shaving utensils, there were certainly some that did some jobs better than others. Best for legs? Definitely the Schick Intuition for me. Why? It’s got that large moisture strip that surrounds the entire blade. I shave my legs and they get dry, dry, dry, so this is a great one. It also doesn’t have to get in any small spaces (your legs are a clean, straight line for the most part!), so that’s a bonus since this is a bit on the bulky side.
For the underarms though? I love the good-old Schick Quattro. Its four blades are small, but resilient. They get in there, do their job, don’t do any damage while they’re there, and the razor stays sharp for quite some time before you need a new blade.
Being a girl, I also like nice-smelling stuff. That being said, I particularly enjoyed the signature scented tangerine strawberry hydrating shave gel from Skintimate. It smelled yummy and helps give the razors a smooth glide.
