Cider season has arrived! There are many uses for cider beyond sipping. Substitute half for your broth when preparing a savory quinoa salad or quinoa side dish. Try an Apple Cider Smoothie or Mulled Cider. I took two of my husband's favorite things to make a Sparkling Cider Spice Cocktail. It did get me thinking a cider, bourbon and maple syrup cocktail might be nice, too.Â
Cider is sweet enough on its own, in my opinion, so there are two variations for this recipe. I found using an unseewetend sparkling soda (black cherry) was what I preferred, but using a sparkling wine made a smoother, sweeter cocktail. Either way you decide to prepare your cocktail, please let me know if you try a bourbon, cider variation.
