It’s starting to feel a bit like cozy sweater weather. Maybe you and I feel the same way about the change in season. It means taking it slow on the weekends, stealing daylight hours to read, and sharing brunch or a card game with friends.
When preparing Pumpkin Spice Scones, I freeze half of the batch, unbaked, to have on hand as an excuse to get comfy and indulge with a Sparkling Vanilla Orangecello Cocktail. You can do this alone or with friends.
Orangecello is available at the PA Wine and Spirits shop. You can infuse it by adding three or four vanilla beans and allow it to rest for a month or you can make it from scratch. I don’t like to waste citrus peel and use it to make a limoncello or Orangecello. Look for the recipe in an upcoming blog post.
Either way you decide to prepare it, enjoy a Sparkling Vanilla Orangecello Cocktail on a cool autumn weekend with fresh-from-the-oven, Pumpkin Spice Scones, just because.

Sparkling Vanilla Orangecello Cocktail

If you find vanilla sparking water it’s a real treat and cheat if you don’t have vanilla infused Orangecello on hand. Add a splash of cranberry juice and twist of lime if you like, instead of orange juice.

-
- 1/2 cup sparkling water
