Many of us use our smart phones for many purposes: email, apps, photos, contacts, news and recreation. It’s no wonder that electronic clutter can build up. Just a few minutes of daily weeding out will keep your phone easy and pleasant to use.
Weed out your contacts
- People and businesses you cannot remember
- Duplicates
- Anyone you haven’t contacted in the last two to three years
- Out-of-date contact information - update or delete
Clear out your calendar
- Delete any out-of-date recurring appointments.
- Discard duplicate listings.
Trim down your apps
- Dump any that are obsolete.
- Remove any you do not use.
- Keep the 20 percent of them that you actually use the most.
Declutter email and texts
- Delete all junk messages.
- Keep only the most recent message in a thread.
- Weed them out daily.
Reduce photo clutter
- In your cameral roll, keep only the top 2 or 3 shots in a series.
- Delete on the fly as you review your photos.
