Homeschool Happenings is a nature-based program focusing on environmental experiences followed by children freewriting in his/her writer's notebook. This program will meet three Tuesdays in November from 9:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. with Jean McCarney, an elementary and special education teacher. Jean has over 30 years experience teaching children to write freely and express themselves. Her mentors have been Lucy Calkins, Ralph Fletcher, Regie Routman and others. Jean and the children will explore journaling through environmental topics and activities. Children will have time for free play each session. Parents are welcome to stay for the program or drop-off and pick-up.
Participants will need to bring a snack and water.
Appropriate for homeschool students kindergarten through eighth grade.
