Like many Berks residents, some of our staff members love snow and the winter season, others — not so much. But, we can all agree there’s fun to be had regardless of the time of the year. Here are some ways we enjoy winter…
Netflix & Chill.
You can’t beat snuggling up on the couch with a cozy blanket and loved ones when it’s cold. Next on my family’s binge-watching list is Schitt’s Creek. I’m obsessed! — Vanessa Goffredo, Art Director
Take up a Hobby.
This winter, I want to try something new. I’d like to learn how to knit and take lessons at the Yarn Gallery in West Reading when they are available. — Heather Pendergast-Baker, Account Executive
Chili for Charity.
Soup = winter to me. My winter isn’t complete until I get my bowl of Chef Tim Twiford’s famous award-winning chili early in February during his Take the Chill Off event when Redner’s Warehouse Markets teams up to support local nonprofit, Blankets of Hope. — Nikki M. Murry, Editor
Game Night.
When it is too cold to go outside, we like to have fun inside and play games. One of our favorites is 5 Crowns. It is a five-suited rummy-style game with a rotating wild card. It takes both strategy and luck! — Robyn L. Jones, Publisher
Slip & Slide.
My favorite spot to go sledding in Berks is a great hill by Daniel Boone Middle School in Douglassville. — Elizabeth Beebe, Account Executive
Seasonal Sipper.
When I want a great cup of hot chocolate or a hot beverage, I like to go to Benchwarmer’s Coffee & Doughnuts in West Reading and get the White Mocha, my favorite. — Sara Woodward, Account Executive
