Orange {is the New} Black

On the prowl for the perfect color scheme this Halloween season? Revert to the classics with a palette of orange and black from head to toe. Bonus points if you also deck the halls accordingly in time for ghoulish guests on Trick-or-Treat night.

1 | Men in black.

Go organic with a gentle blend of amino acids and botanical ingredients — think aloe leaf juice, green tea, clove — to cleanse without parabens or sulfates. Plus, the conditioner even packs a UV-protectant punch!

Momentum Men's shampoo and conditioner, $39, Amazyng Style and Reclaimed Jewels, 4040 Penn Avenue, Sinking Spring, 610.741.6604. amazyngstyleandreclaimedjewels.com

2 | Runners up.

Race for a good cause in costume or in your favorite orange tech shirt at Fitzy's Run, a 5K at Stone House Park in Wyomissing on Sunday, Oct. 25, run by Lauren's Foundation. The non-profit was formed in honor of Michael Fitzgerald's daughter, who died in 2005 at Duke after a bout with brain cancer. Lauren's stepmother, Sorita Averill-Fitzgerald, is the race director and owner of A Running Start.

Fitzy's 5K Run, $30 pre-registration to run or walk, packet pick up available on Oct. 23 and 24 at A Running Start, 705 Penn Avenue, West Reading, 610.320.9097. laurensfoundation.org

3 | Arm candy.

Ditch the garish spider rings in favor of a more subdued and stylish take on Halloween hues with a customized bangle stack for fall.

Assorted bracelets, PANDORA® Jewelry (starting at $25), Brighton Jewelry ($48), Endless Jewelry (starting at $30), Alex and Ani ($28), and Brighton Jewelry ($68), Coventry Corners, Berkshire Mall, 1665 State Hill Rd., Reading, 610.376.0445. coventrycorners.com

4 | Festive festoon.

This spunky seasonal garland handcrafted by artisan Sue Kumpf in Wyomissing from grapevine, orange burlap and black flowers has a hint of sparkle for added glam.

Wreath, $145, It's a Gift! The Woman's Exchange of Reading, 720 Penn Avenue, West Reading, 610.373.0960. itsagift.org

5 | Nailed it.

Create a new twist on classic French tips with OPI Infinite Shine “We’re in the Black” and “No Stopping Me Now,” with a touch of gold on ring fingers for extra bling.

Prices Vary, Hair on the Avenue, 3459 Penn Avenue, Sinking Spring, 610.927.3772, hotasalon.com AND Bell Tower Salon Spa, 18 State Hill Rd., Wyomissing, 610.372.6379. belltowersalonspa.com
