14 Hippity Hoppity Easter Events

Put a little spring in your step as you bounce like bunnies throughout Berks discovering fun, unique Easter activities. Egg hunts, train rides, astronauts, zoo animals and the Easter bunny all await your visit. Bring your baskets, put on your Easter bonnets, and take a look at these Berks Easter offerings...

Glow Egg Hunt:

April 12, 8-9pm, Hawk Mountain Sanctuary, Kempton.

Kids ages 11-14 can enjoy a nighttime egg hunt, scouring the forest with black light flashlights in search of glowing eggs. Will begin at the Visitor’s Center. $10. For more info visit hawkmountain.org.

Easter Egg Hunt:

April 13, 10am, Shillington Memorial Park, Shillington.

Easter Egg Hunt is free and open to all. In the event of rain, egg hunt will be held in the Governor Mifflin High School auxiliary gym. For more info visit co.berks.pa.us.

Easter on the Farm:

April 13, 10am, Pennsylvania German Cultural Heritage Center, Kutztown.

A Pennsylvania Dutch Easter awaits. Enjoy crafts, cooking demos, vendors, amazing food and much more. Easter Egg Hunts for children 12 years and under will be held at 11:30am and 2:30pm. Spring Fair and Easter Egg Hunt:

April 13, Noon-2pm Schwarzwald UCC, Reading.

Easter Egg Hunt for kids ages 3 and younger will begin at 12:30pm, ages 4-6 at 12:45pm, and ages 7-10 at 1pm. Bring your baskets to fill with eggs, and take pictures with the Easter Bunny. Enjoy crafts, games, and food. Be sure to visit the Exeter Township K-9 unit and Fire Department. For more info call 610.779.0850.

EGGstravaganza:

April 13, Noon-3pm, Berks County Heritage Center, Reading.

Decorate eggs; take a pony ride, and watch the Reading Jugglers Club. Children can participate in different fun activities. This event is free and is not an egg hunt. For more info visit co.berks.pa.us.

Easter Craft Fair:

April 13 & 14, 9am-3pm, Leesport Farmers Market, Leesport.

Both inside and outdoors, you will find craft vendors displaying a large variety of items such as furniture, crafts, home décor and much more. Also find plenty of food and drink stands as you peruse the fair. Free. For more info visit leesportmarket.com.

Egg-cellent Easter Party:

April 14, Noon-2pm, Riverview Gardens & Gifts, Temple.

Riverview Gardens & Gifts has lots in store for Easter fun. Kids can join in free Easter Egg rock painting, play egg-collecting games in-store, or plant some wheat grass and make Grass Hair People. Stop by and cuddle with live bunnies which will also be available for adoption. Free to attend, some activities have small cost. For more info call 610.929.5049.

Easter Egg Hunt:

April 17, 4:30pm, Spring Township.

Shiloh Hills Park Multi-Purpose Field. Bring your baskets to collect eggs! Free. For more info visit springtwpberks.org.

Easter Egg Hunts:

April 19 & 20, 10am, Weaver’s Orchard, Morgantown.

Kids ages 2-12 will enjoy activities such as face painting and visiting baby animals. Participate in Easter Egg Hunts that will run on the hour from 10am-2pm. Cost $7.50. For more info visit weaversorchard.com.

Raptor Egg Hunt:

April 20, 10am, Hawk Mountain Sanctuary, Kempton.

Kids will hear a lesson on raptor eggs and then go out on a quest in the forest for wooden eggs which then can be turned in for prizes. $10 for members, $15 for non-members. Spots are limited, and must be pre-registered.  Free Raptors up close program at 11am and 1pm. Visit hawkmountain.org to register.

Egg-Stravaganza Egg Hunt:

April 20, 10am-11am, South Mountain YMCA, Wernersville.

Egg hunts by age group, face painting, crafts and the Easter Bunny all make this 8th Annual Easter Egg Hunt a fun time for all. Prizes given for the silliest Easter bonnet. Free. For more info visit smymca.org.

Eco-Egg Hunt:

April 20, 11am-Noon, Angora Fruit Farm, Reading.

Children ages 3-10 will receive an educational lesson about native nesting birds and eggs before the hunting begins. Then they will search the grounds for different types of eggs that resemble these different birds. $5 per child. Must register. Contact Jennifer at 484.509.2667, ext. 3.

Easter Bunny Hop:

April 20, 11am-3pm, Boscov’s Berkshire Mall, Wyomissing & Boscov’s East, Reading.

Hop along the Boscov’s Bunny Trail to discover special treats. Complete the trail, win a prize. Enjoy many activities while you’re there including Easter games, crafts, pictures with the Easter Bunny and more.  Free event for kids ages 12 and under. For more info visit boscovs.com.

Easter at the Museum:

April 21, 11am-2pm, Reading Public Museum, Reading.

Blast off your Easter celebrations with the Easter Bunny and astronauts this year during the astronaut exhibition. Enjoy pictures with the Easter Bunny, crafts, visit the art galleries, and remember to bring your baskets to fill during egg hunts. Regular museum admission costs apply.
