Apis Services, Inc. employs more than 2,000 employees in the Berks County area in its human services department, which is dedicated to helping individuals with developmental disabilities and offering children’s services.
The Apis Services, Inc. Wellness Program has continued to grow and implement several new programs and wellness initiatives for its employees in the past two years. As an employer with a strong commitment to improving the health of our employees, Apis features a comprehensive well-being strategy that its employees are passionate about. The workplace well-being program focuses on creating and maintaining an active lifestyle, mental health awareness, group and individual exercise programs through a yoga program, and other incentives for gym memberships. Most notably, Apis has received a Making a Difference Gold-level Aetna Workplace Well-being Award as an employer with a strong commitment to improving the health of employees.
Positive feedback from employees has continued to be uplifting as new initiatives are introduced and with the continued promotion of the available Apis Wellness Program services. Here’s what they are saying about the Apis Wellness Program:
“I would like to begin by acknowledging that we, the staff at Crossroads Programs, really enjoy your health and wellness information sessions and the knowledge you share with us daily is much appreciated!”
“I really appreciate the vested interest APIS and Aetna have taken to help me identify and make those life improvements.”
The company’s future goals include continuing to work closely with its program leadership and other community professionals to build more employee engagement, increase the number of members completing their yearly no-cost preventative care services, and continue to grow the health and wellness footprint for Apis Services and its partners. The feedback received on current initiatives and what the employees want more of has been, and will continue to be, useful in future endeavors, especially as the organization grows, say Apis representatives. Feedback continues to be positive, and employees are thankful for the program and that it continues to evolve.
