The Best Place to Enjoy the Arts
Reading Public Museum
Celebrating again! The Reading Public Museum has won numerous Best of Berks awards over the years. For the past 110 years, The Museum has assembled an impressive collection of art. Across its European, American and Modern and Contemporary galleries, visitors can expect to enjoy viewing some of the more than 800 paintings, 10,000 works on paper and 300 sculptures. Always eager to recruit museum-goers and keep past guests coming back, The Museum casts its net wide by putting on temporary exhibits and showcasing living artists’ work. As curator Scott Schweigert says, “We’re a museum for everybody.” Outside, one can wander the 25-acre arboretum and its sculpture garden. The Museum is also a center of history and science with its various galleries and planetarium. — Riley Norton
