A superbly refreshing and flavorful drink made with real fruit and gin. Slightly sweet and very aromatic, it’s the perfect addition to any spring event!
(makes 4 servings)
Ingredients:
- ½ cup of fresh blackberries
- ½ cup sugar
- ½ cup of water
- 8 ounces gin
- 2 ounces fresh squeezed lemon juice
- 2 ounces raspberry liqueur
- Lemon wedges
- Blackberries for garnish
- Ice
Equipment:
- Small saucepan
- Immersion or standard blender
- Fine mesh strainer
- Shaker
- Glasses or Mason jars for serving
Instructions:
- Combine sugar and water in small saucepan.
- Bring to a boil, cook until water turns clear (this should happen even before it boils)
- Remove from heat, add blackberries and let steep for 20 minutes
- Puree ingredients from saucepan by blending
- Strain syrup through fine mesh strainer into a bowl or cup, discarding seeds
- Place syrup, raspberry liqueur, gin and lemon juice into shaker and shake to combine
- Fill glasses with ice, pour cocktail evenly into glasses or jars
- Garnish with lemon wedge and fresh blackberries
