Beverly Kelly-Carfagno, owner of and soap maker at Muddy Creek Soap Company, got her start in 2009 when soap making started as a hobby. She built a website and started making more products like body washes, foaming hand soaps and lotions. Before she knew it, she had a whole line of natural, organic and cruelty-free products crafted in small batches! Today, at her physical shop at 608 Penn Avenue in West Reading, where she now leases the entire space, she’s celebrating her 5-year anniversary this month. Says Beverly, “We managed to stay afloat during the pandemic and are so grateful for our customers that ordered online and by phone. We wouldn’t be here without your support!” Look for Make-and-Take classes in the near future.
