Evelyn Chatel spent her first 24 years in the auto industry working and living in Miami. In 2006, she learned about Freedom Toyota and Freedom Hyundai in Hamburg and their intention to change the culture of car dealerships, and she was inspired. She moved to Wyomissing with her husband, Jerry, and daughter, Katherine, and accepted the role of Service and Parts Director of Freedom Toyota and Freedom Hyundai in order to take part in the development of what would become “The Life Improvement Business.”
Twelve years later, Evelyn, Freedom Auto Group, and The Life Improvement Business have all grown dramatically.
Evelyn has accepted increasing responsibility in the company, most recently taking on the role of Chief Operating Officer for Freedom Auto Group and becoming a partner in all locations.
Meanwhile, Freedom Auto Group has grown from 75 employees assisting 1,200 vehicle-purchasing customers per year to now having more than 250 dedicated co-workers in four locations serving the needs of 5,000+ car purchasers annually.
And finally, the Life Improvement Business has grown from a cultural concept into a movement. Freedom employees have created a people-first environment where the intention of giving is valued over getting and gratitude is the basis for the business.
