Friends that kick together stick together, as is the case of the Owner and Head Instructor of Wyomissing ATA Martial Arts. The Owner, Ms. Lauren Minnich, and Head Instructor, Ms. Shannon Strouse, have been friends for fifteen years and are both passionate about creating leaders and breaking gender stereotypes. As two of the highest ranking female martial artists in Berks County, Taekwondo has been an integral part of their lives since childhood. Â
While earning her B.A. in business from Muhlenberg College, Ms. Minnich opened her first martial arts studio with the goal of creating leaders through martial arts. Though she spends much of her time volunteering with the Junior League of Reading and other local non-profits, she enjoys traveling and gardening in her free time.
Ms. Shannon Strouse has been the Head Instructor of Wyomissing ATA Martial Arts for three years, building on over 15 years of experience. During that time, she graduated from Kutztown University with a B.S. in Library Science and a minor in English, and she recently earned her fifth degree black belt. She enjoys all aspects of fitness, reading books, and especially loves her dogs. An alumna of the Wilson School District, she resides there with her husband (who is a first degree black belt).
