Eggs-cellent Easter Egg Hunts

Get the baskets for the goodies, put the kids in their Easter outfits and head out to these fun Egg Hunts right here in Berks!

    1. Fun in the Forest. Join the Raptor Egg Hunt at Hawk Mountain Sanctuary, Kempton, on April 19 at 10am. Find wooden raptor eggs hidden in the forest after an educational lesson on eggs. Afterward, stay for the live raptor presentation. Members: $5, Non-members: $10. Limited to the first 50 who register. For more info call 610.756.6961.
    1. Easter on the Farm. Head to the Pennsylvania German Cultural Heritage Center at Kutztown University for this fun event and egg hunts planned at 11:30am and 2:30pm. A bonus? Children can get a history lesson with hands-on crafts and demonstrations all day. Free. For more info call 610.683.1589.
    1. Gilmore | Henne Expands to 3. Three egg hunts that is. This year, the Gilmore | Henne Community Fund’s 3rd Annual Egg Hunt expands to three parks. Two are confirmed for April: April 5, 10am, at The Backyard Playground at Opportunity House in Reading; April 19, 10am, West Lawn Playground, West Lawn. For more info call 610.207.3522.
    1. Egg-Stravaganza Egg Hunt: An SMYMCA Free Community Event. Enjoy some spring family fun at the 4th Annual Easter Egg Hunt at South Mountain YMCA Camps on April 19, 10-11:30am. The event in free and open to all. Kids of all ages can wear their silliest “Easter Bonnet” for a chance to win a prize. The event is held in collaboration with the Reading-Berks County Kiwanis Club.     1. Eco Egg Hunt. April 19, 11am at the Angora Fruit Farm in Reading. Come join Jennifer Brooks, an environmental educator, on a non-competitive eco egg hunt for children ages 3-10. Children, accompanied by their parents, will explore the beautiful forest and hunt down their eco-decorated eggs after learning about the birds of the forest. Once the egg hunt is complete, children will place their eggs in the correct nest and even win a prize! Pre-registration is required. $5 per child; adults participate for free.     1. Hamburg Jaycees 3rd Annual Egg Hunt. Welcome spring and get in the Easter spirit on April 19 from 10am-12pm at the Edenburg Park, 302 Florence Ave., Hamburg. Experience prizes for all, flower sales, baked goods and a visit from the Easter Bunny. Free. For more info call 610.698.9448 or email AndreaLeibensperger@comcast.net.
    1. Easter Family Fun Day at The Museum. Stop by for an annual Easter Egg Hunt in the galleries on Sunday, April 20 from Noon -4pm at The Reading Public Museum. Win great prizes from Manor Golf Club, Chick-Fil-A, Subway, Texas Roadhouse, Cold Stone Creamery and many more! Meet the Easter Bunny from 1-3pm.
