Q: How did you get your start with Berks County Living? When was that?
I started shooting for BCL in 2005, Kristin Kramer, who was editor at the time, gave me my first assignment.
Q: What kind of photography have you done for the magazine?
I have had the opportunity to photograph all types of assignments for BCL, including: tons of great restaurants, fabulous people, unique gifts and fun stores!
Q: What was your favorite photo assignment you’ve worked on and why?
I have so many favorite photo assignments, but one of my most memorable photos shoots was when I started at BCL. I was asked to photograph Mr. Albert Boscov at one of the Boscov’s locations. I was really nervous, and asked my brother to come with me to scout out locations for the photos beforehand (it was my first really important figurehead photo shoot). When the day arrived, I was so excited and nervous to meet Mr. Boscov. We chatted and he had me laughing and put me at ease. I look back now and have to giggle to myself because I was so caught up in getting the ‘right angle’ that I forgot to ask him to fix his tie. Oops!
Q: What do you enjoy in your free time?
In my free time I really enjoy gardening and I love to decorate my front porch every season. My husband and I also love to ski and hike.
Q: Anything you’d like to say to those who voted for you?
I was so excited and surprised to receive the news! Thank you to everyone who took the time to vote for me and all of the wonderful businesses here in Berks County. We really do live in a special place.
