Q: What do you remember about your start with Berks County Living and when was that?
I had just moved back from living in London in 2005, and studying for my MA in Photojournalism and Kristin (Kramer) Gehris was the editor at the time and gave me my first assignments. I remember hand delivering the images on a CD! Yikes, are they still around?
Q: What is your favorite thing to shoot for the magazine?
I always love photographing food, but I really enjoy the Best of Berks and FACES of Berks assignments.
Q: What was a stand-out experience for you when working with Berks County Living?
This is a tough one! I have a lot of fond memories tied to BCL, from photographing Albert Boscov to Charlie Wagner in my earlier years at BCL, but I still get really excited when I get an email or message saying they loved seeing my photos in the magazine! I also have enjoyed meeting and making new friends at BCL.
Q: What do you enjoy in your free time?
My husband and I love to take our baby and dog hiking any chance we can get. Our favorite local spot is Nolde Forest.
Q: How many times have you won this award? How does it feel now versus the first time?
This is my fifth time winning the award. When I received the email, I shouted…"no way!" I was just as excited this time as with previous wins.
