I am not that witty person to come up with clever names for themed libations but I do enjoy a simple sip to celebrate any occasion.
A few years back I hosted an Oscars party complete with take-home golden Oscar necklaces and a sparkling buffet. I created a few signature drinks for the evening, the names were not so slick, but they were tasty.
When hosting a gathering, it’s always fun to offer guests a signature drink. If you have the time between party prep, print a party favor recipe card. Here is a floral and basic printable cocktail recipe template.
You can’t go wrong with a gin and tonic. Folks often say they don’t like gin. When teased with a bit with fresh fruit, the herbal-infused spirit becomes playful and light.
Using tonic water saves some calories. To add a bit more flavor, try a blood orange spritzer like Izze Sparkling Clementine Juice or San Pellegrino Aranciata.
Keep your entertaining menu simple, serve a signature drink and send guests home with the recipe. If you are headed to an Oscars Party, take these easy Savory Chèvre Tartlets, a bottle of gin and a bag of blood oranges.

- 2 ounces gin
- 2 ounces fresh blood orange juice
- 1 teaspoon fresh lime juice
- 4 ounces tonic or blood orange spritzer
Instructions
- Fill a tumbler with ice. Pour over the gin, orange and lime juice.

Recipe notes:
- Substitute tonic water for Izze Sparkling Clementine Juice or San Pellegrino Aranciata.
- Make a Blackberry Gin and Tonic by following the recipe but begin by muddling 6 blackberries, with the gin and fruit juices. Strain, pour over ice and top with tonic water.
