It’s probably no secret that summer is one of my favorite times of the year. For that reason, and many more, our July “Summer” issue ranks near the top of my list of those to coordinate, too. From revealing our 8th Annual Pet Photo Contest winners on page 22 to pulling together a cool scavenger hunt across Berks County (page 26), there’s a lot of fun to be had on the pages that follow.
Many of you are likely looking to cool off while enjoying the hot weather. Grab a slushy from one of the spots in our 5 Things feature on page 21. And keep your hair up, feeling and looking cool with one of the great items from Berks-based retailers as featured in The Look on page 18.
July also looks to offer a return of outdoor concerts, likely kicking off with the Bandshell Concert Series from Berks Arts. And those who enjoy the visual arts can always explore murals and mosaic work across West Reading and Hamburg. In fact, West Reading is looking to make arts a priority as it shifts its theme later this year. Learn more in our Living In Style piece on page 40. Visiting and want to enjoy a delicious, authentic Greek meal? Head to Mazi, profiled on page 54.
As we look to overcome the hardships of the COVID-19 pandemic, Berks is really coming to life this summer. Get out and enjoy it!
