At Berks County Living, we aim to create content for everyone, but once a year, we look to especially cater to our male readers. Guys: June is your month!
From spicing things up with eats and drinks found right here in Berks (page 30) to where to go to spruce up your grooming routine (page 16), we’ve got information you can put to use in this month’s issue. In our Living In Style feature, hop inside a cool Mercedes Sprinter van and get inspiration for your summer road trip. You can even get a 360-degree view online at berkscountyliving.com.
Also in this issue, we highlight some standout Berks Men In Business. Be it for a product or service, we encourage all of our readers to get to know them, and their businesses, a bit better starting on page 18. And as always, we urge you to support and shop local first.
June is also the month in which we celebrate Pride. Do you know how Pride got its start? Pride Month is celebrated each June in tribute to those individuals involved in the Stonewall Riots of 1969. On June 28 in New York City, police raided the Stonewall Inn, a gay club, resulting in bar patrons, staff and neighborhood residents rioting outside. A movement continued over a six-day period aiming to send a message that demanded the establishment of places where LGBT+ people could go and be transparent about their sexual orientation without the fear of being arrested. We hope you’ll flip to page 27 to get to know three Berks residents a bit better and to learn just what pride means to them.
It’s the perfect month to wear your rainbow colors proudly.
