In June 2020, Beth Garrigan became CEO of Safe Berks, just a few months after the COVID-19 pandemic struck. Throughout this unprecedented time, the agency provided uninterrupted free and confidential lifesaving services to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. During her tenure and due to the immediate needs of our community, Safe Berks has significantly expanded its direct support services and community outreach and education efforts. To accommodate its growth, a second location was secured at 147 N. 5th St., along with a satellite office at Friend Inc., in Kutztown. Safe Berks is focused on enhancing collaborative efforts with community partners to alleviate barriers for clients seeking services. They also offer off-site advocacy response and seek to secure additional satellite offices throughout Berks County.
