Kate Alley has the best of both worlds as the Chief Development Officer for Opportunity House, a non-profit organization that empowers struggling people to get back on their feet. Administratively, she is responsible for development, events and marketing, but she also has the privilege of witnessing the humanitarian work taking place there. Kate says, “my office is in the same building as the shelter, so I see the amazing transformations that happen. Individuals and families arrive often at their lowest point and leave supported with a plan and a brighter future ahead of them.” Her concern for the children, individuals and families served by Opportunity House led Kate to introduce the organization's most successful event to date, "Wine Women and Shoes," which is now in its fourth year. Kate is a Berks County native and received her MBA and MSW from Boston University. She has worked in the corporate and non-profit worlds in Moscow, New York and Boston and is thrilled to be back in her hometown. Being in Berks has brought Kate closer to family and the chance to enjoy her passion for cycling both on the Thun Trail and in road events.
