Susan L. Angstadt, a native of Berks, discovered her love for photography while living in New York City. Her career began in Brooklyn and led her back to her hometown where she worked at the Reading Eagle for 18 years. Susan, an award-winning photographer, was recently named Berks County Living’s Favorite Freelance Photographer by the magazine’s readers. She is a seasoned photojournalist specializing in event photography, head shots, higher education work and portrait photography. COVID-19 inspired her to create her new business, Susan the PETographer, combining her two loves: animals and photography. She prides herself in giving a glimpse into the souls of her subjects, saying, “If I leave a shoot and know that I captured the essence of a person’s (or pet’s) personality, I am a happy photographer.”
