How it started
Rachel and Corey met on the dating app, Bumble. Recalls Rachel, “The first thing he texted me was, ‘I rode a horse once. His name was Big Red. He was big and he was red,’ and for some reason I found this hilarious. By our second date we were already planning our life together. The actual proposal came when after pumpkin picking, Corey and Rachel went back to their farm to take fall family photos. He had her pick out the perfect spot, and they took a few test photos before he got down on one knee to propose. Says Rachel, “It was the most beautiful fall day, and it was intimate and perfect because our dog, Rhodey, and our horses were there; we included them in the photos as well.” Rachel’s engagement ring has special meaning as it was gifted by her late mother, Cynthia Boscov.
The Big Day
In attendance was Rachel’s father, Jim Boscov, as well as Corey’s mother, Pam Leake; his stepfather, Jeffrey Leake; father, Randy Moser and stepmother, Michaelann Moser. The Maid of Honor was Rachel’s best friend and college roommate, Megan Allen. Chad Moser, Corey’s brother, was Best Man. Rachel wore a custom-designed dress by Velma Lee and Kate Spade sneakers. Corey and the groomsmen wore blue sharkskin suits by Lauren by Ralph Lauren from Men’s Wearhouse, Wyomissing. Their weddings rings, from Van Scoy Jewelers, Wyomissing, coordinate with matching sapphire accents. Guests enjoyed catering from Boscov’s Catering from the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel, Reading, including a special Maryland Table celebrating Corey’s home state featuring crab dip with toasted baguettes, Maryland Crab Soup with oyster crackers and crab cakes with tartar and cocktail sauces. Other items included a grill station with assorted kebobs, a brisket station and a French Fry Bar. Drinks were served from a horse trailer bar brought by Roaming Libations, Kinzer, PA, and were named for the couple’s cats: Dibny, Logan and Miles, and their horses: Captain, Parker and Mary Jane. The three-tier pink champagne cake was by Ady Cakes, West Reading. Music was provided by the Don Eaton Band of Philadelphia, and the couple danced their first song to Livin’ on Love by Alan Jackson. The decorating was in shades of blush, navy, burgundy and slate blue, done by Wishes Entertaining and Event Design, Reading.
Looking Back
Corey: What did you first think when you saw your bride on your wedding day? All I could think about is how lucky I am.
Rachel: What would you say the highlight of your Big Day was? Finally being able to celebrate with all of our family and friends. Note: This was the couple’s second wedding as the first fell during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, being held at her father’s home in Wyomissing and being limited to just immediate family. The ceremony was followed by a dinner at Anthony’s Trattoria, Reading.
What do you remember most from your wedding day? Corey: for me, it was our first dance. Rachel: walking down the aisle and seeing my handsome husband for the first time.
How did you feel the day before your wedding? The day before our wedding was a little stressful because we had to work on preparing the farm. Luckily, we had Corey’s brother Chad and my best friend, Megan, to help out. We couldn’t have done it without their support.
How was the Honeymoon? Because it’s tough to get away from their farm and horses, the newlyweds haven’t honeymooned yet, but their plan is to travel to Italy.
What are your Future Plans? Rachel, owner of DeHaven Equine, and Corey, a police officer, just plan on enjoying time together, establishing their professions and traveling before settling down to start a family.
