Indie Girls Art & Craft Fest is a juried fine arts and crafts festival featuring regional artists showing and selling their creations. Founded in 2012 by Angela Duen and Rebecca Botvin, it is a small cooperative of crafters and like-minded creatives in Berks County.
The Indie Girls Cooperative produced two shows at the Wyomissing Public Library last year. “Each show gets better and better with more attendees, and more people who hear about us – mostly grass roots, word of mouth, and Facebook marketing. We are hoping show #3 will be another huge success,” say members.
The Indie Girls specialize in mentoring and enjoy featuring women artists and crafters who have never exhibited their work before. More than 75 percent of group members have never done a show before Indie Girls, but most continue to do shows on their own after an Indie Girls event. “We encourage the ‘Shop Local’ movement
by offering many of our area talent a place to sell their crafts, and a place for the community to find them,” member Angela Duen explains.
The next Indie Girls show will be held at the Wyomissing Public Library on Friday, Nov. 29, from Noon-5pm and Saturday, Nov. 30, from 9am-3pm. Admission is free.
