Amanda Alger is the owner and stylist at Dressed in Love Bridal Suite in the heart of West Reading on Penn Avenue. She grew up in the industry, with her parents owning Bridal Gardens, a successful bridal shop in Reading in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Amanda was the young girl at the shop who loved to “help” brides pick out gowns and accessories. After attending West Chester University and earning her liberal arts degree, Amanda’s heart still yearned to join the bridal fashion industry, so she partnered with her father, Fred, as an account executive for well-known wedding gown and design company, Paloma Blanca.
Alger still works with Paloma Blanca today, and carries the brand in her store. At Dressed in Love, she hand-selects every gown in her inventory and works intimately with every bride as well as the designers. Explains Alger, “I wanted to create a bridal shop that helped women to look and feel good. My store’s ‘slogan’ is Look Good in Love, and I truly want women to look and feel their best on their wedding day. Empowering women and helping them to see the best in themselves is my true goal for my business.”
Her combined passion for the industry, plus her vast knowledge of bridal fashion makes for the perfect formula for a successful bridal appointment, to which clients would attest. Asserts Amanda, “I pride myself on Dressed in Love being able to provide an intimate, fun and knowledgeable experience for every bride.”
