Jeff Woytovich founded the Children’s Alopecia Project in 2004, about a year after his second oldest daughter was diagnosed with alopecia. He has since made it his life’s purpose to raise awareness about alopecia, build self-esteem in children with the disease, and provide support for their families. Jeff manages more than 50 CAP Kid Support Groups around the world; Alopeciapalooza, an annual camp held in different locations across the country and attended by up to 500 people each year; and smaller regional camps in CA, CO, OH and NC. Prior to starting the Children’s Alopecia Project, Jeff was employed in the senior healthcare field for 18 years in various administrative positions and worked in marketing and community relations within and outside of the senior healthcare community, too. He was a founding board member of the Greater Reading Mental Health Alliance (formerly the Reading Mental Health Association) and of the Circle of Life Coalition. Jeff served as the media liaison for Extreme Makeover: Home Edition when the show came to Berks County as a result of Jeff’s efforts to help a co-worker. Jeff also co-founded the People Chronicles along with People Academy Founder Toni Reece.
In addition to his work with CAP, Jeff is currently a freelance videographer and photographer, works with social media and marketing, and volunteers his services to organizations close to his heart, including Big Vision Foundation, Susquehanna University Women’s Lacrosse, and Berks Catholic High School.
