Everyday tasks we perform as we travel through life, day by day, can make an impact on the environment around us. It’d be great if we could all be aware of what that impact is – great or not-so-great – wouldn’t it?
The first step in doing so might be to figure out your carbon footprint. What’s that you might ask? Well, quite simply, it’s a calculation specific to you and your lifestyle, telling you how earth-friendly you are. Want to know what yours is?
Visit nature.org and find out. You can input information for you, or even for your household as a whole, and see how you score. You’ll be asked questions about the kind of home you live in, how you heat and cool it, if your appliances are Energy-Star rated, what kind of vehicle you drive, even your dietary and recycling habits!
Put it all together and you’ll get a score. You’ll also be able to see how your numbers compare to the average American’s and have the opportunity to see how you can improve upon it and more.
It’s quite fun. And you know what they say…knowing and admitting it is half the battle!
