Golden Oaks Golf Club and Restaurant
Hole #18, Par 5
Jo Ann Heller Director of Golf, Head Golf Pro:
“Any shot that starts right or slices too much will hit the large trees guarding the inside part of the dogleg, making the second shot quite a challenge. For those who find the fairway or left rough, find the yardage you want remaining for your third shot if the risk to try to hit the green in two is too great. For example, I like to have a 100-yard shot, so I take the yardage remaining (260 yards) and subtract it from 110 yards allowing for some roll. Select your club and aim at the right center of the fairway to take the left pond out of play. Once properly executed, you have a relatively easy third shot. Aim at the pin if it is in the center or right and aim for the middle of the green if the pin is left. An easy par to end the round.”

LedgeRock Golf Club
Hole #13 , Par 5
Golf Pro Name: Brady Foore, PGA
“Play tee shot to set up an easy second shot. Avoid hitting too long of a drive, as your ball may reach a large drop off to a hazard. A long second shot is required to leave a shorter approach onto an elevated green. A wayward second shot can leave a difficult approach from deep fairway bunkers on one side, and thick rough on the other. Fairways are large and forgiving, so it is best to not play too aggressively, leaving a simple approach.”

Berkleigh Golf Club
Hole #15, Par 3
Golf Pro Name: Adrienne Hogan
“Make sure you choose the right club. Even though the tee box is slightly elevated and you would think the yardage would be less, 15 always seems to play longer than most players think.”

Moselem Springs Golf Club
Hole #18, Par 4
Golf Pro Name: Eric Shillinger, PGA
“The hole plays 456 yards long from the back tee. From this elevated tee, a solid drive is required to reach the fairway. The second shot must travel over the pond and avoid the water to the right of the green. Long hitters can reach the pond with a drive of 290+ yards. Most longer hitters lay up with a 3 wood or hybrid. This, however, leaves a longer shot into this green. Most shorter hitters lay up left of the pond and wedge into this green. If you do not hit a good tee shot, and question if you can reach the green on your second shot, play it smart and lay up.”

The Reading Country Club
Hole #15, Par 3
Golf Pro Name: Tom Morgan
“Lay up if you doubt your ability to clear the creek at the time of your tee shot. Many pars have been made when players have laid up.”

Galen Hall Golf Club
Hole #15, Par 3
Director of Golf: Derek Kern
Advice for Men: “I offer two approaches. Either go at the green and risk going in the moat. Or you can lay up, play it safe and take your chances of getting up and down for par. By laying up you pretty much take out the risk of making a double bogey. So, if you’re in a tournament and have only a few stroke lead and your hands are shaking, LAY UP!”
Advice for Women: “With the hole only being 83 yards from the women's tee, JUST GO FOR IT. Even laying up, you could find the moat from a distance that short.”

Berkshire Country Club
Hole #15, Par 4
Golf Pro: Barry Adams
“The best way to play this hole is to tee off with a club you hit straight. It is best to try to hit the approach to the center of the green. The high scores are made when shooting for the back pin placements. The back tier of the green is very small, and the green has a deep bunker on each side of it.”

Heidelberg Country Club
Hole #13, Par 4
Golf Pro Name: Mike Grabosky
“Position, position, position…a well positioned tee shot is essential to making par or better on the this challenging par 4. With a greens complex protected by bunkers and water, an errant tee shot that finds its way into the fairway bunkers or rough requires a much more difficult second shot to be played. By hitting the fairway, you are now able to concentrate on hitting a well placed second shot into this green complex thereby giving yourself a chance at making par or better.”

“To master the large undulating greens, stay below the hole like you are putting uphill – that is must.”
